Located just south of Spartanburg Woodruff is a small city of four thousand residents that features a quaint downtown with a variety of shops and small town charm. The city was named for Joseph Woodruff, a veteran of the Revolutionary War who was granted 200 acres that would become the start of the city of Woodruff. The town was chartered in 1874 and grew greatly after a railroad was completed in 1885.
The city features standard grocery and casual restaurant chains along with local shops and eateries such as Coleman Farm Supply, Mustard Seed BBQ, Shade Tree Forge, and Kiwi Creations. The city has its own school district which is great if you want your children to have the same classmates from elementary through high school.
