Located to the southeast of Spartanburg Pauline is an unincorporated community with a population of just over ten thousand residents. The community was originally known as Stribling but once a post office was established a new named was needed due to an existing town called Stribling so the Postmaster used Pauline, his daughter's name.
You'll find several interesting shops in Pauline such as a gift shop named The Monkey Vine, Carolina Farm and Wildlife Supply, Old Iron Motorcycles, and Mady Belle's Grill and BBQ add spice to the community.
